In the Fall of 1918 the Alabama-Florida District was organized as a part of a new national organization called Kiwanis. The Motto of this new group was “We Trade“.

On May 21, 1919 a group of men in Birmingham bought out Allen Browne, who had conceived the idea of the original organization, and the Kiwanis we know today – was established. The Alabama District was split from Florida in 1924 and today Alabama unfolds approximately 4,500 members within 100+ clubs which are divided over 14 Divisions.
